Surah Falaq (Arabic: الفلق) is the 113th chapter of the Quran and a Meccan surah. It is correct in that to say: Allah, the Exalted, His praises, commanded His Prophet Muhammad, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, to say: “I seek refuge in Allah of the dawn.” And it may be that there is a prison in Hell called Falaq.Īnd if that is the case, and the greatness of his praise was not an indication that he meant by saying: “By Allah of the dawn” some of what is called the dawn and not some,Īnd Allah Almighty was Allah of everything from his creation, then he must be concerned with everything called the dawn because he is Allah of all that Surah Falaq Meaning It is the creation and the meaning of the words: Say I seek refuge in Allah of creation. It is imprisoned in hell called this name.

The word “ al-Falaq” in the first verse, a generic term referring to the process of ‘splitting’, has been restricted in most translations to one particular type of splitting, namely ‘daybreak’ or ‘dawn’. As for its arrangement in the Qur’an, it comes after Surat Al-Ikhlas. It is titled in English “dawn” or “day-break” and composed of 5 verses, Its order in terms of revelation comes after Surat Al-Fil That is, in the period between the beginning of revelation and the migration to Abyssinia.
